Spa Sundays

So, as a birthday treat to each other, we visit a spa twice a year in order to relax, rewind and destress. The spa we visited last Sunday was Champney’s in Henlow, we have never visited here before. We really have done the rounds when it comes to spas, and to list a few we have been to Champney’s Tring, Nutfield Priory Surrey, Marriot London and Sopwell House St Albans.

On arrival, we were greeted with the most delicious mini blueberry muffins, fresh orange and ginger juice and of course berry granola with natural yog. YUM.

After breakfast, we slipped into our complimentary robe and slippers and took to a sun lounger. With our ‘Essentials Spa Day’, we received a 25 minute aromatherapy wrap and a 25 minute full body massage. The aromatherapy wrap was a very interesting experience, firstly we were body brushed from head to toe, covered in oil and then wrapped in a plastic sheet for around 15 minutes. Our full body massage followed, complete bliss… We then headed to the sauna, steam and swimming pool and enjoyed each in turn.

The rest of the day was spent relaxing in the beautifully ornate restrooms and wandering around the grounds on a glorious sunny afternoon. Also with the spa day, you receive a buffet lunch which had to be the best part of my day! A plate full of fresh fish, meat and vegetables.
